Vegging out

All the other gay men are out clubbing on Friday nights :) Shaking their tight booty, sweat and gel slicked up in their spiked up hair, blinding laser lights dancing off the sheen on their bare gym-toned chests, the floor rumbling with the thumpa-thumpa beat of the latest technocraze hit.

Seriously, I don't know where the boys find the damned strength - are they all hyped up on some new drug that I don't know of? After a whole week's worth of mind-numbingly tiring work, I can only switch everything off, slide down to the floor and do absolutely nothing, at least nothing that requires using up too much mental capacity. I forgot all about the nasty politics at work, the little dramas played out amongst some of the colleagues - and especially the heartbreaking tragedies that happen in the hospital. On Fridays that I'm not working, I grab a few pillows, a favourite novel, a mug of hot chocolate, dump them all in front of my telly and watch re-runs of Sex and the City :)

Hell, no wonder I'm fucking single! And dammit, I'm a hop, skip and a week away from becoming Bridget Jones! Maybe I should start belting out All By Myself in my pyjamas.

I'm right there with you, Paul (mmmm....if only), only I'm watching Season 4 of "Six Feet Under" on DVD.

Michael! I love Six feet! Waiting for the pirated version of the DVD! :)

Kody, you're too damned cute to be sitting at home drinking and smoking!

Hey paul,

Six Feet Under is awesome. Nate cries too much in the last 2 seasons. But the final episode of the last season was well delivered! You should really watch them all. :-)

I am working and not doing thumpa thumpa... Believe me, the thumpa thumpa routine gets very dropped once you turn 30.... I didn't think it would but it did..

Hey Paul, I like the sound of your Friday evenings. I'd far rather be keeping company with a guy doing that than be out doing the tedious thumpa thumpa clubbing thing.

But never mind approaching Bridget Jones, you're a hop, skip and very short time away from your trip to see all the Turkish hotties in 'Stanbul! :oP

Paul, don't be so pessimistic. in fact, that's what i would do after a whole week of stuffs.

on a positive note, at least you have the Istanbul trip...

Darling, whoever said clubbing requires any mental capacity!

But if it makes you feel better, I was also sitting at home on Friday night. And feeling rather frumpy, too.

Hmmm... there ought to be Bridget Jones Boys' Club :P

Well... i'm not much of a clubbing type... but i guess ur work life are just more stressful than the norm? ^^;

Seriously though, sometimes peeps can just push themselves to do things and have fun no matter how tired they are! ;D

I was happily being sick eating ramadan food that my sister bought with my book. The irony of it is that after that, I felt like thump thumping!

Hey Paul,
I'm in the same position. I'm not much of a clubber either, in fact , I've never gone. Just doesn't interest me I guess. I like the idea of being home on a Friday (off course - if its with someone - all the better) but even just hanging out with a few friends where one can actaully talk and not have the thump-thump music is cool too.
I love your blog by the way.

I get the feeling that if all of you got together and started a Bridget Jones Boys' Club it'd just turn into a massive orgy every Friday night.

Hey now that's an idea :-p

wee shiong... your idea of a Bridget Jones Boys Club sounds so cool - and it seems most of us think that way too :) But I think Jay might have something there... there might be more thumpa thumpa going on at the end.

marchelo, I am envious. Green eyed all the way!

will,, after the thumpa thumpa, I would need hours to recuperate. Aching old bones and all that.
